New Shopping Experience Coming Soon

Last October we celebrated six years at the Schulze Dr. store, and back in April we celebrated a whopping 28 years in business! Wow. Looking back it’s awesome to reflect on how Yelton’s has evolved, our amazing staff members, and of course, our customers that have been with us for years, and even generations. I have to say, I am so grateful to be part of a company that puts people first, offers a fun working environment, and knows how to adapt.

Speaking about adapting, I’m happy to announce that changes are on the horizon once again. Since Monday we’ve been working alongside the demo crew, electricians, designers and more. All of this to deliver you a better shopping experience. Because, you’re worth it!

For a long time Mark and I have dreamed about creating a more private shopping area within the store. This project is that vision coming to life and we are excited to use this new space to bring new one-of-a-kind items to Yelton’s. Think big. Think bling. Think personal.

We can’t wait to share more details once the dust settles. In meantime, I’d like to give a huge shout out to all of the local companies that have made this renovation possible. Thanks to KDM and the fabulous Samantha for the creative, Schumacher-Dugan for the demo and rebuild, as well as our friends at Biz-Com electric, JP Flooring and Lighting EFX. You’re doing awesome!

Summer Planning

It’s hard to believe that another school year has passed us by. Soon, I’ll be the mother of a 7th grader and a 4th grader! Wow, time flies. It seems like just yesterday that they were crawling around in diapers.

While it’s always hard to see your kids grow up, I have to say, my boys are at a really fun age. They’re old enough to get around and appreciate new experiences, but not quite to those teenage years where they’ll want to start doing their own thing (sniff).

With summer on the horizon, I’m going to take advantage of their time and attention while I still have it. As a family we’ve already been planning! There are so many new things popping up around us, it’s really hard to choose. Here are some of the activities that have made it to the top of our list so far …

Liberty Center

Of course, a day at Liberty Center is always fun. While the boys are more than happy to hang out at Foot Locker and Dicks, I’ve got a few other ideas. I see there are a lot of new restaurants opening, and a Farmers Market every Tuesday. Fresh food, sign me up!

Top Golf

I know my family is really excited for Top Golf to open! Trent had the opportunity to visit one last summer on his trip to DC and he can’t stop bragging about it. Every time we drive the construction site on 1-75 we note any progress. I know we’ll be there soon after the opening. Has anyone ever been?

Bike Rides

One of the items on my Mother’s Day wish list was a “Townie” bike, and I’m happy to report that my boys came through for me! On those beautiful summer days I’ll be showing off my new ride on the Loveland Bike Trail. Where else should we go? If you have a favorite bike trail, send it my way.

Cooperstown

One of our summer getaways will include a visit to Cooperstown, NY for a baseball tournament. This should be an amazing trip! Along with the tournament we’re building in a couple of extra days to visit state parks, and possibly even detour to Niagara Falls on our way home! Do you have any favorite places in that region that we should put on our “must see” list?

No matter what you have in store for the summer, don’t forget to get out of the office and enjoy some family time! I’m certainly going to sit back, sip a few glasses of wine, and enjoy these warmer days while we still have them. Before we know it, summer will be over and we’ll be back to our everyday school routine. Gah, did I really just say that?!

So, what’s on your agenda?
