Our Newest Family Member

The Yelton family is growing, once again. This time, it’s a fur baby! Meet Murphy who joined us on St. Patrick’s Day of this year. He is a mini-schnoodle {schnauzer/poodle} and while he is only 4.5lbs right now, he’s expected to grow between 13 and 16lbs.

The boys have been begging for a furry friend for years, but we’ve been hesitant for a number of reasons. First, the boys both have allergies. Secondly, we’re a family that’s always on the go. When “puppy talk” began to fill the house last November, I left the ball in Mark’s court. After all, he tends to be a little more rational about these sorts of decisions. As for me, I see a puppy, my heart melts, and I want to take the whole litter home. I mean, who wouldn’t?!

Murphy

After careful consideration Mark came up with a plan. To combat the allergy issue we would find a puppy that was hypoallergenic. Check! As far as our crazy schedule we decided that we would bring Murphy to the store from time to time to help socialize him. Once he gets a little bit older we are hoping that he will be trained well enough to visit nursing homes and hospice patients.

We’ve got some big goals, we know, but in the end I think Murphy will be a wonderful addition to the family. Just two weeks in we can tell he’s already a rock star. He’s 80% potty trained and he’s already learned a couple of commands including “sit”, and “lay”. Now the boys have him working on, “paw”. His favorite toys are his whiffle ball and his Kong bear, thanks to one of our amazing customers.

The major challenge we have so far is sleeping. He doesn’t love being in his crate at night and makes it known. If you have any tips, or know of any amazing dog trainers in the area let us know! We’re all ears.

Over the next few months, we know there will be ups, downs, and all-arounds. For now, we’re just enjoying getting to know our little fur baby. It’s hard to believe that something this small can bring so much love and joy into a family. We’re so blessed! As long as he stays away from my shoes, that is …

Spring Looks I Love

The official start of spring is less than one week away {yippee}. In order to welcome the new season in style, I’ve already been incorporating bright colors and fun patterns into my wardrobe. Of all of the options that are out there, my obsession this year is floral print. I just can’t seem to get enough of it!

While floral doesn’t fall under the approved dress code at Yelton Fine Jewelers, if you see me outside of work, I promise, I’ll be blooming. To complete my perfect spring look, you better believe I’ll be adding a layer of bling. From to floral dresses, to garden inspired earrings, here are the spring looks that I love for 2017 …

Bohemian Blooms

Blouse_TacoriBangle

I am so glad that the bohemian look is sticking around for another season. Maybe I do have a little hippie in me after all. I love this blue floral blouse from Nordstrom because it delivers both fashion, and comfort. As for a jewelry pairing, it’s almost a no brainer. No boho outfit is complete without a cuff bracelet and no surprise, Tacori has come through for us once again.

 Spring Sophistication

Shift_Dress_Tacori_Earrings

What’s not to love about this floral shift dress from Nordstrom? It’s so versatile. Add a cami and pumps for a sophisticated work look, or rock it with a denim blazer and flats to keep it casual. And, the Tacori earrings! Talk about eye candy. Not only do they deliver an elegant sparkle, they also complement the blue tones in this dress so beautifully.

Go With The Flow

Skirt_SimonGEarrings

When that summer breeze kicks in, you’re going to want to reach for this flowy skirt from ASOS. It’s like wearing freedom {ahhhh}. To complement the organic look and feel of this skirt, I recommend these stunning drop earrings from the Simon G Garden collection. They’ll quickly become a staple in your spring wardrobe.

Casual Chic

Jacket_HOFPendant

I’m in love with this floral bomber jacket, and believe it or not, it’s from Target. Of course, they would! It’s so chic; yet still delivers that laid back look that’s perfect for running errands on the weekend. Since the jacket already has so much to offer, I recommend pairing it with a simple diamond pendant for just the right amount of shine.

Not Just For Ladies

MensShirt_TissotWatch

Guys, just because I’m talking floral doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the fun. Peruse the dress shirts next time you’re at a department store and I guarantee you’ll find plenty of subtle, floral patterns that you’ll actually like. Add a luxury timepiece, like this Stainless Steel Watch from Tissot and you’ll be ready to dominate the boardroom, or date night.

Spring is almost here, so let’s start dressing like it! If you have a spring look that you need help completing stop by Yelton Fine Jewelers to see me. I’ll help you find the perfect bling so that you can feel like you’re blooming too <3.

As a sneak peak, here are some of the looks that I’m betting on for Spring 2017 …

Halos

In the bridal world, it’s all about the halo right now. If you ask me it’s the perfect way to bring your center stone to life. When it comes to this trend, Fana is knocking it out of the park. I don’t think I have seen an engagement ring from them that I didn’t love.

Stackables

Rings, necklaces, and bracelets. You can stack almost anything these days and it will instantly transform your wardrobe. One brand that has done a great job in creating mix and match styles is our beloved, Hearts On Fire. Personally, I have my eyes set on the Optima Four Station Diamond Bangle {Retail: $2,400}.

Geometrics

When it comes to bling we love geometric shapes, and we’re so glad to see them trending in 2017. If you like this sleek, modern look Gabriel New York has your back. My top pick is this stunning white gold and diamond necklace {Retail: $745}, especially when paired with the matching drop earrings {Retail: $825}

Mixed Metals

There is nothing better than a splash of color to welcome spring in style! Luckily some of our favorite designers agree. Check out these stunning mixed metals pieces from Simon G., Tacori, and LeVian. I love seeing the creative use of rose gold, and the diamond accents. Well, those never hurt either.
