Two Shrinking Yelton’s

Hello everyone, Amy McCalister Hodges here, taking over Tina’s blog for the week! As an Advocare coach, I help others with their health goals and form with them a realistic plan to get there.

Well, this summer I was lucky enough to work with Tina, and her husband Mark. Tina reached out to me this past June after returning from JCK Las Vegas. She told me she was feeling meh. She was bloated, a little sluggish, and her clothes weren’t fitting quite like they used to. We’ve all been there!

Based on her goals, I recommended the 24-day Advocare Challenge. At first she was a little intimidated, which I totally understand. Change is hard! But then I reminded her, it’s less than a month! Plus the diet plan could include delicious things like pancakes and buffalo chicken bowls. As for that occasional beer and chocolate splurge that she asked about, unfortunately those would have to wait. Sorry girl!

For anyone entering any lifestyle change, I always recommend recruiting a partner. In Tina’s case, there was zero hesitation. She was bringing her husband on board with her.

I have to say, I had so much fun working with these two! They were total champs and jumped right into the program. It’s no wonder why they saw such great results. Since completing the challenge Tina is down three pounds down, and is 11 inches smaller! Mark is down 15 pounds and has lost 25 inches {men}.

The first time my husband and I did the challenge we saw great results as well. Though, it isn’t all about weight loss! Other benefits you can look forward to include better sleep, more energy, teaching healthy habits to your kids, and a whole new outlook! All around, it’s a positive shift.

If you’re looking for something to give you a little nudge in the right direction, I would love to chat with you about Advocare. No matter what you’re looking to achieve, I can work with your goals and your budget. From emotional support, to exercise routines, and even creating weekly grocery lists, I am here for you every step of the way. Most importantly I want you to see results!

Amongst the Yelton Fine Jewelers clan, JoAnn is jumping on board after Labor Day and Gina is starting in August. Soon enough their entire team will be shrinking! But don’t worry, those diamonds are staying just as big as always {wink}.

Thanks for letting me take over for Tina this week, and if you see her and Mark around, be sure to give them a huge high five! I am so proud of them. Finally, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to give me a shout. My contact information is below.

Summer Update

I don’t know about you but Fourth of July is always the pinnacle of summer for me. The festivities, the family time, and the excuse to splurge on some of my favorite indulgences {wink}. I just can’t believe that it’s already behind us, meaning that summer as we know it is halfway done.

What have you all been up to? Hopefully you’ve been enjoying yourselves so far! Here’s a summer update from the Yelton clan …

This weekend baseball and lacrosse will wrap up for our boys. Ty’s last 13U baseball game is scheduled in Indianapolis, and Trent’s 11U lacrosse season will come to a close in Chicago. When we get home there will be no dull moments. Trent will head to Spring Hill camp next week and Ty will be home prepping for 2018 Baseball Tryouts! These kids sure are dedicated, and seeing them happy makes all of the running around worth it.

Once the boys wrap up their commitments, we’re still planning to hit the road as a family. We have a trip to Pittsburgh planned in early August, we’ll make our way to “Camp Yelton” to enjoy water and sunshine, and closer to home we hope to hit a couple of concerts. After that it’s time to hit the books with summer assignments! School will be here before we know it.

Outside of all of our activities, I also set some pretty hefty personal goals this summer. First and foremost I wanted to get our house organized! No more clutter. No more toys we don’t use. No more clothes we don’t wear … all of it must go! Well, I’m happy to report that I’m 50% done and our donation bags are ready to be dropped off. Even getting rid of this first load is going to be such a relief.

Along with getting the house cleaned, I also wanted to clean up my diet a bit and get rid of a few unwanted pounds. Well … thanks to the Advocare 24 day challenge, I’m happy to report that I’m five pounds down! Setting goals are pretty easy, though accomplishing them is a bit of a different story. I’m just so glad to see progress and my hope for the rest of the summer is that I can stay on track!

Now that I write it all down, maybe we have accomplished a lot so far! And, we still have half of the summer left. Let’s get it!
