News flash, Father’s Day is on Sunday! My husband {like most} is a pretty simple guy. Just being at home with his boys and grilling food is his idea of a perfect day. We get anxious when the checkout line is moving slooow without extending empathy to those behind the counter.

It’s so easy to do and I know, I am guilty too! As my gift to you this holiday season, here’s just a little reminder to take a moment. Look around. Like, really … look around. When you do you’ll start to notice that this stress that we all experience this time of year. It’s a blessing.

We’re lucky because we can afford to put presents under the tree. We’re loved by the friends and family who surround us. We’re fortunate to be able to look forward to warm, holiday meals. And, when we recognize that there are plenty of people out there who don’t have the same luxuries, we have an opportunity to be humbled. We have an opportunity to give back.
