February is the month of love. It’s also the month of the Amethyst. For all of the February babies out there, I’ll admit it – your birthstone is one of my absolute favorite gems. If you’ve ever shopped at Yelton Fine Jewelers you can probably see why I’m so drawn to Amethyst pieces. Ahem, purple!

- Leonardo da Vinci believed the amethyst could control evil thoughts and increase intelligence.
- The English leveraged amethysts during the Middle Ages to symbolize royalty.
